◎ Appearance

Deep garnet-black in the glass, nearly opaque when held to light. A thick, tan head forms and clings to the rim, leaving pronounced lacing down the walls. Carbonation is restrained, appropriate to the style and the spirit-aged character.

◌ Aroma

The nose is dominated by roasted coffee and dark chocolate, with supporting notes of charred malt and vanilla-oak from the barrel aging. A layer of bourbon and rye whiskey char sits beneath, mingling with subtle smoke and dried plum. The alcohol warmth is present but integrated, not harsh.

◐ Taste

Rich and full-bodied on entry, with intense roasted grain and espresso leading the palate. Mid-palate develops deep chocolate and caramel sweetness, balanced by moderate bitterness and a dry, charred finish from the heavily roasted malts. The bourbon and rye barrel influence adds vanilla, spice, and a slight smoky dryness. At 12.7 % ABV, the spirit is warm but controlled, enhancing rather than overwhelming.

◑ Finish

Long and warming, with roasted grain and coffee lingering on the palate for several minutes. A subtle oak tannin and alcohol heat persist in the throat, leaving a dry, slightly smoky aftertaste.
