Māhea Haze

◎ Appearance

Māhea Haze pours opaque and distinctly cloudy, displaying a pale golden hue beneath the suspended particles characteristic of the style. The turbidity is substantial and uniform, with fine yeast and grain proteins in suspension. A modest white head forms and dissipates gently, leaving minimal lacing on the glass.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with an intense tropical bouquet dominated by passion fruit, mango, and ripe peach, underpinned by bright citrus notes of fresh orange juice. The Azacca, Galaxy, and Citra hops layer in a subtle hint of pineapple and stone fruit aromatics, creating a complex, fruit-forward profile. The oats and white wheat contribute a delicate grain sweetness that frames without dominating the hop character.

◐ Taste

Entry is soft and rounded, with the oats and rolled wheat establishing a full, creamy mouthfeel that carries through to the mid-palate. Tropical fruit flavors echo the aroma—peach and passion fruit notes persist—while bitterness remains restrained at 24 IBUs, allowing sweetness and fruit to occupy the foreground. The body feels substantial without heaviness, balancing the gentle floral and citrus undertones from the hop blend.

The finish is smooth and juicy rather than sharp or astringent, with a gentle fade that leaves behind lingering peach and orange notes. The aftertaste is clean and refreshing, with no harsh residue.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
