Allagash Hazy IPA

◎ Appearance

Pale golden-yellow with pronounced haze from suspended yeast and wheat, creating an opaque, cloudy appearance typical of the style. A thick, creamy white head forms readily and clings to the glass with good persistence. Fine carbonation supports steady effervescence and gentle lacing as the beer is consumed.

◌ Aroma

A vibrant, fruity nose leads with bright citrus—orange zest and candied lemon—followed by tropical stone fruit notes of mango and pineapple. The six-hop blend melds into a unified aromatics profile with subtle herbal undertones and a clean, moderately fruity yeast contribution. Soft, bready malt notes underscore the composition without asserting themselves.

◐ Taste

The palate enters soft and juicy, with tropical fruit flavors—mango and pineapple—giving way to orange and subtle stone fruit in the mid-palate. A gentle sweetness balances the composition, while the restrained 35 IBU bitterness remains in the background, never aggressive or harsh. The blend of pale malt, wheat, Munich malt, and oats creates a pillowy mouthfeel with delicate body and an almost creamy texture.

◑ Finish

The finish is clean and moderately brief, with lingering citrus and tropical notes fading gracefully. Residual softness and a whisper of malt sweetness linger on the palate without harshness.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
