🌍 Germany · Festbier · One of 26 Festbiers in hopIQ

The brewery's festival beer for the Oktoberfest, first presented in 1812; only Munich breweries may brew beer under this protected name. It is made by infusion mashing from pale barley malt and Munich malt at 13.7 °P, hopped with Herkules, Perle and Select to 23 IBU, and sold from mid-July to late September. It pours a bright gold under a fine white head. Alpine herbs and exotic fruit rise in the glass; the palate brings caramel, dried fruit, fig and honey over a full body, ending on gentle residual sweetness and a light grapefruit note.
