Tom Paine
A dry-hopped, robust pale ale at 5.5%, named after the author of 'Rights of Man', who worked as an excise officer in Lewes from 1768 to 1774. First released for the Fourth of July, it started Harvey's line of seasonal beers sold for one month only. Copper-coloured, with floral hop and malt on the nose; the palate is full and malty with distinct toffee, and the finish is firmly bitter.

AI-generated sensory profile for Tom Paine
Cold enough to sharpen the hop aroma without numbing the palate. Around 7–9°C keeps the citrus and pine vivid without losing bitterness definition.
The classic — versatile, comfortable to hold and keeps the beer cool. No frills, no distractions: just the beer.
Drink fresh — hop aroma fades fast. Best within 3 months of canning or bottling.

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same bitter, malty, floral character as Tom Paine will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
