🌍 Italy · American IPA · One of 279 American IPAs in hopIQ

Gjulia's flagship — a top-fermented, unfiltered, unpasteurised Italian Pale Ale made from estate-grown barley and hops at the Altùris farm in San Pietro al Natisone. Intense citrus, grapefruit and resin on the nose; a medium-bodied palate gives way to a firm bitter finish at 5.8%. The IPA that won Gjulia the Bibenda Brewery of the Year: Italy's only farm-brewery IPA made entirely from own-grown ingredients.

About American IPA

Style guide · what to expect · how to find alternatives

What is a American IPA?

IPAs are hop-forward ales with 5.5–7.5% ABV and IBU 40–70+. Bold hop aroma — citrus, tropical, resinous — with firm bitterness and a dry, clean finish.

Finding a similar American IPA

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same hoppy, citrus, crisp character as Gjulia IPA will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
