◎ Appearance

Frastanzer s'dunkle presents a deep chestnut to black-brown body with warm red highlights when held to light, characteristic of a well-crafted Dunkel. The beige head forms with moderate density and displays fine lacing that persists across the glass. The beer shows good clarity despite its dark color and organic roasted malt base.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with substantial chocolate and nougat notes supported by a solid foundation of roasted, nutty malt character. An unexpected citrus lift—reminiscent of pink grapefruit—cuts through the darker aromatics and adds brightness to the profile. The overall impression is warm and inviting without aggressive hop character.

◐ Taste

The palate opens full and malty, with black tea undertones that develop through the mid-palate and provide subtle astringency. Sweet malt dominates the experience while almond chocolate notes emerge toward the finish, creating a harmonious balance between richness and restraint. At 5.2% ABV, the beer maintains a surprisingly slim body despite its sweet initial impression.

The finish is clean and sweet, with almond chocolate lingering pleasantly on the palate without cloying heaviness. The aftertaste remains malty and moreish, inviting another sip while gradually fading to subtle roasted grain notes.
