Daly Special

Tap to rate

Tart, with a healthy dose of lemon and tea. Daly Special is an untraditional 4.5% ABV Berliner Weisse built on the classic tea and lemonade combination, John Daly style, which means with alcohol. It is brewed with Apollo hops, Rahr Pilsner and wheat malt, plus Keemun Hao Ya tea, black tea and lemon. Light on ABV but heavy on character and class, say the brewers.

◐ Taste

Tart acidity dominates the palate with pronounced lemon and tea flavors that feel natural and well-integrated rather than added. The wheat malt provides a light, dry foundation, while the low bitterness (10 IBU) allows the tartness to remain the primary sensation. The finish is clean and refreshing, without residual sweetness.

◑ Finish

The finish is short to medium length, with the tartness fading to a crisp, herbaceous dryness. The aftertaste leaves a pleasant lemon-tea memory without any cloying or heavy character.
