People's Moravian Porter

◎ Appearance

Deep dark brown, nearly opaque at SRM 29, with minimal light transmission. A dense tan head forms and clings to the glass with persistent lacing. Carbonation is moderate, with a steady stream of fine bubbles rising through the body.

◌ Aroma

Warm spice dominates the nose—cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger are immediately present in the proportions of their source cookies. Citrus notes of blood orange and mandarin weave through, with dark roasted malt and cocoa providing depth. A subtle clove character emerges beneath, grounded by faint coffee undertones.

◐ Taste

The spice profile carries seamlessly to the palate—warming cinnamon and ginger create early complexity. Mid-palate brings citrus brightness and rich roasted character, with chocolate and dark fruit notes filling the center. The moderate 28 IBU bitterness is restrained, allowing the spice and adjuncts to lead without harsh hop bite. Body is smooth and full, carrying the malt sweetness through.

◑ Finish

The finish is dry and lingering, with spice and citrus fading gradually into a roasted malt dryness. A gentle clove warmth persists in the aftertaste without becoming astringent.

Serve at 10–13°C. Too cold mutes the roasted complexity that makes a good porter worth drinking slowly.
