◎ Appearance

Deep garnet to near-black in the glass, with the unfiltered character delivering a subtle cloudiness that catches light at the edges. A firm, tan head forms and clings persistently to the glass walls, displaying solid lacing with each sip. Moderate carbonation supports the visual presence without excessive aggression.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with bright citrus—orange peel and grapefruit zest—layered over a distinctly spicy rye character that brings a rustic, grain-forward quality. Beneath this sits a measured dark malt foundation that avoids heavy roast, allowing stone fruit (ripe peach) and herbaceous resin notes to emerge. A subtle cocoa undertone rounds the profile without dominating.

◐ Taste

Entry is full and slightly chewy, with the malted rye delivering its promised spice against a restrained dark malt sweetness. Mid-palate develops the citrus-forward dry hop character—orange and grapefruit pushing forward—while the resinous hop bitterness builds steadily. The body remains substantial and slightly viscous throughout, never becoming cloying.

◑ Finish

A lingering, firm bitterness anchors the finish, balanced against light cocoa and dried citrus pith. The aftertaste persists with dry, resinous character and a whisper of grain spice that fades gradually over several minutes.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
