Tap to rate

Sour cherries and chocolate meet dryness in a dark kettle sour of 14 degrees original gravity. The brewers use 150 kilograms of cherries per batch on a malt bill of Pilsner, Munich, Carared, chocolate, chocolate wheat and barley malt, and hop it with Žatec Poloraný červeňák. It is brewed in the courtyard brewhouse in Prague-Karlín.

Deep garnet red with mahogany highlights, translucent and bright despite the dark color. Fine carbonation creates a modest tan head that settles quickly, leaving delicate rings of lacing on the glass. The beer presents a clean, jewel-like clarity characteristic of a well-executed kettle sour.

◐ Taste

Bright acidity from 150 kg of sour cherries drives the palate, balanced by dry tannin and a chocolate note that echoes the aroma without sweetness. The malt structure—Pilsner, Munich, Carared, chocolate, and chocolate wheat—provides body and a subtle roasted character. Bitterness remains restrained at 20 IBU, allowing the fruit-acid-cocoa interplay to remain central.
