🌍 Belgium · Witbier · One of 77 Witbiers in hopIQ

A Belgian witbier brewed in Bellegem since March 2008 to the traditional recipe of the style. Barley malt and wheat form the base, the wheat giving the beer its pale colour, and hops and a blend of herbs go into the boil. The top-fermenting yeast brings fruitiness, the herbs a spicy freshness. The beer is lagered only briefly so that it keeps its haze, is left unfiltered and referments for two weeks in warm rooms after bottling. Pale and cloudy, it smells fruity and spicy and drinks light and thirst-quenching.

Serve & Enjoy

How to get the most out of Bellegems Wit

Serve at 5–8°C
Refrigerate, then rest 2 min

Serve cold to preserve the delicate citrus and spice aromas. Too warm and the yeast esters become heavy — too cold and the coriander disappears.

Witbier glass
Recommended for this style

The tall, slender wheat beer glass holds the full 50cl pour and shows off the hazy golden colour. The wide mouth lets citrus and spice aromas drift upward freely.

Best consumed fresh. Citrus and spice notes fade after 3–4 months. Drink within 6 months of packaging.
