Maneblusser

Tap to rate

A light citrus aroma and a fine finish mark Mechelen's city beer, a golden, top-fermented blond at 5.8% brewed with East Kent Golding hops and lagered for two weeks. The name goes back to the night of 27–28 January 1687, when moonlight on the fog-shrouded St. Rumbold's Tower looked like a fire and the town raised the alarm; Mechelaars have been 'Maneblussers' (moon extinguishers) ever since.
