Gember Neutraal

Tap to rate

An IPA that smells of ginger and tropical fruit and tastes of ginger and a bite of red chilli, with a light bitterness and a sharp edge. Barley malt, wheat malt and oat flakes form the grain bill; red chilli is added too. It was the brewery's first beer in a can, a cheerful nod to the LGBTQIAP community, and is served at 9 °C.

◐ Taste

Ginger and red chilli warmth dominate the palate from entry through mid-palate, creating a pleasant peppery bite. The barley and wheat malz provide a light, clean body, while a measured 60 IBU bitterness arrives late without asserting dominance. Oat flakes contribute subtle texture and softness.

Serve at 8–11°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.
