Beers similar to Van Vollenhoven East Indies Pale Ale

hopIQ found 10 beers that share Van Vollenhoven East Indies Pale Ale's bitter and dry character. The bitterness here comes from Spanish brandy rather than a heavy dose of hops: an old Dutch IPA recipe reminiscent of the beers once shipped from Amsterdam to the East Indies. Adding brandy is a technique the Van Vollenhoven brewery used in the 18th and 19th centuries, and this version uses fewer hops than a traditional English IPA. It runs at 6.5% ABV and 50 IBU.
