Summerskills Brewery
Summerskills was founded in 1983 by Adam Summerskill and has brewed in Plymstock, a district of Plymouth, since 1985, which makes it the oldest brewery in the city. Much of the brewhouse came from Penrhos Brewery, a plant that Peter Austin assembled for Terry Jones of Monty Python. The brewery makes cask and bottle-conditioned ales with whole-leaf hops, mostly from Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and with malt that comes largely from the floor maltings at Warminster. Its brewer took over the business in 2012.
