Urban Brew

Tap to rate

A stout infused with organic cold-brew coffee, made by blending the brewery's own stout with the infusion. The flavour is rich and deep, the roasted bean leads, and a gentle coffee aftertaste lingers. It is left unfined, so it pours less clear than the rest of the range and is suitable for vegans. Most of it is bottled, with cask brewed to order. It took gold in its class at the regional SIBA awards for the South West in 2025 and bronze in 2026.

Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Urban Brew

◎ Appearance

Deep brown to near-black in the glass with a dense, tight crema that clings to the rim. The beer pours deliberately hazy due to its unfined nature, revealing fine particles in suspension that catch the light. Head retention is excellent, leaving persistent lacing as the glass empties.

◌ Aroma

Roasted coffee dominates the nose, rich and forward, with supporting notes of dark chocolate and charred grain. The organic cold-brew infusion adds clarity to the coffee character—it reads as freshly brewed rather than bitter or stale. Subtle hints of cocoa powder and a whisper of fermentation round out the profile.
