Schilling Beer Co. was founded in 2013 by the Cozzens family — Jeff, Stu, and their friend John Lenzini — in Littleton, New Hampshire, named in honor of their late grandfather Dr. R.J. Schilling. The founders, Michigan natives who had settled in New Hampshire's North Country, restored a circa-1797 gristmill along the Ammonoosuc River as their brewpub. Schilling specializes in European-inspired lagers and mixed-fermentation ales, drawing on formative lager experiences the founders had in Europe. The brewery and its riverside taproom have become a destination in the White Mountains region.
