The core range is brewed at the Wieselburg brewery in Lower Austria, whose brewing history reaches back to 1650; 1770, when Josef Schauer acquired the business, is taken as its founding year. Since 2024 Kaiser specialties have also been brewed at Hofbräu Kaltenhausen near Hallein, the oldest brewery in the province of Salzburg, established in 1475.
