Known for a full range of styles

In 2001 the company Dej Bůh štěstí bought the closed brewery in Kostelec nad Černými lesy, whose last brew had been in 1987, and set out to revive it. The late-Baroque complex rose after a fire in 1836, was rebuilt in 1873 and has been a listed cultural monument since 2018; its owners also founded the National Brewing Museum in 2007. Beer is brewed again in the historic rooms: Dešťoffka, Vycpaná vydra, Bílá svině and Černá svině year-round, plus seasonal specials.

How we measure this

Two thresholds are at work here:

  • The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
  • The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.

A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
