Brauhaus Riegele is one of Germany's oldest breweries, with origins traced to a brewery called 'Zum Goldenen Ross' founded in Augsburg in 1386. In 1884 Sebastian Riegele acquired the brewery, and the Riegele family grew the business substantially in the early twentieth century. Today the brewery is operated by the Priller family in the 28th generation of family ownership, producing a wide range of craft and traditional beers that have won prizes at the European Beer Star and World Beer Cup. Brauhaus Riegele has attracted international attention through collaborations such as an Oktoberfest beer with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.
