Brauerei Schlüssel
Brewpub on Bolkerstraße in Düsseldorf's Altstadt, where the house is first recorded in 1632. In 1850 the baker Jakob Schwenger bought the building and began brewing; the tavern took the name Zum Schlüssel in 1913, after the custom of keeping the city-gate key in a neighbouring inn. The Gatzweiler family, brewers from Neuss, took over in 1936 and still own it. The Altbier is fermented open with the house yeast, left unpasteurised and poured in the tap room from 100-litre wooden casks.
