Bathams Brewery
Bathams is a family brewery in Brierley Hill in the Black Country, also known as Daniel Batham & Son, and dates its start to 1877. Brewing takes place behind its tap, the Vine on Delph Road, known locally as the Bull & Bladder. The range is deliberately narrow: a pale, sweetish best bitter, a dark mild and a strong winter ale, joined by an alcohol-free bitter. The mild took prizes at the Brewers' Exhibition in 1954, 1968 and 1972. Most of the beer is cask-conditioned and poured in the company's twelve pubs, with around thirty further outlets in the West Midlands.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
