Florenske

Tap to rate

Florenske is the Weizen of the Lurrie line: 6% ABV, with a tart edge. It joined the lineup in 2023, one of the newer recipes that Stadsbroewerie Remunj develops on its own 20- and 50-litre kit in Roermond before brewing a 1,000-litre batch. It carries the Lurrie name like the rest of the line.

Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Florenske

◎ Appearance

Florenske presents a pale golden hue with a distinctly hazy appearance, characteristic of the Hefeweizen style. A fine, wispy white head forms readily and clings to the glass with delicate lacing. The cloudiness, arising from suspension of yeast, gives the beer an inviting, textured visual presence.

◐ Taste

The palate leads with crisp wheat character and a pronounced sour note that defines the beer's identity. Mid-palate develops tart and slightly salty sensations, while restrained clove and banana notes provide textural contrast without overwhelming. The low bitterness (14 IBU) allows the fruity yeast expression and tartness to take center stage, finishing clean and refreshing.

Serve at 5–8°C

Slightly warmer than a lager — 8–12°C allows the banana and clove esters from the yeast to fully develop.

Weizen glass

Tall and narrow at the base, flaring at the top — designed to hold the abundant foam of a wheat beer while showcasing its hazy golden body.

Best fresh. The yeast-driven banana and clove character fades over time. Drink within 4 months.

What is a Hefeweizen?

Hefeweizens are unfiltered Bavarian wheat beers with 4.9–5.6% ABV. Yeast-driven banana and clove esters define the style, alongside a hazy golden body and soft wheat sweetness.

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same wheat, tart, sour character as Florenske will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
