Big Bangin'

Tap to rate

A West Coast-style IPA, rich golden in colour, brewed on Maris Otter malt and heavily hopped with Columbus, Mosaic and Simcoe. Tropical fruit leads the aroma and carries through on the palate, where it meets a firm, pronounced bitterness. The malt stays in a supporting role and leaves the tone to the hops. At 7.1% it is the strongest of the brewery's single IPAs.

◌ Aroma

The nose is dominated by vibrant tropical fruit character—pineapple, mango, and stone fruit leap forward immediately. Behind this fruit-forward profile sits a subtle supporting note of grainy malt sweetness, while the Columbus, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops layer in herbaceous and citrus undertones that frame the overall composition without overwhelming it.

◐ Taste

The palate entry is clean and crisp, with tropical fruit flavors carrying through from the aroma and meeting a firm, pronounced bitterness that builds steadily across the mid-palate. The Maris Otter malt provides a light, supportive foundation without drawing attention away from the hop-driven character; bitterness remains the dominant voice through the swallow.

◑ Finish

The finish is dry and lingering, with bitter and slightly resinous hop notes persisting well into the aftertaste. Residual warmth from the 7.1% ABV adds subtle complexity without muddying the otherwise crisp, hop-centric conclusion.
