Lausbua

Tap to rate

A low-strength, dry-hopped lager from the Werkstatt line, which the brewery calls a Schankbier and its label a summer beer; a Lausbua is Bavarian for a cheeky rascal. Pale barley malt and a caramel malt are brewed to just 9.8 °P, hopped with Ariana, Cascade and Blanc and then dry-hopped with Cascade and Simcoe. It is sun-yellow. The aroma is loud for the strength: citrus fruit and exotic notes, which tasters pin down as grapefruit and lemon. What follows is a slim, delicate body that finishes dry with a clear hop bitterness.
