Dark Island Reserve

Tap to rate

Dark Island Reserve is a strong ruby ale of 10%: roasted malt, dark fruit and whisky in the nose, then chocolate, caramel, spice, winey and woody notes, and a creamy, warming, lasting finish. After a gentle fermentation at the brewery in Quoyloo it rests in old oak casks that once held Scotch malt whisky. First Gold and East Kent Goldings are the hops. In 2024 it won Overall Champion Cask at SIBA Scotland.
