František Bittner

Tap to rate

A four-times-hopped 13° light strong beer with a sweet side; the last hopping is done cold directly in the lagering tank. It rests at least three months so that all flavours join and round off, and is on sale at Easter, St Wenceslas and Christmas. The name honours two generations of brewers, father (1892–1931) and son (1931–1971), whose tradition still guides the brewery's recipes. Brewed since 2012 from Czech malt and Žatec hops.

◐ Taste

Entry is smooth and malty-sweet, with a full body that carries notes of biscuit and light caramel across the mid-palate. The four-hop regimen yields restrained but clean bitterness (35 IBU) that balances the inherent sweetness without asserting dominance, creating a rounded, drinkable strong lager.
