Green Hop

Tap to rate

Hops from Tibbs Farm in Sussex were harvested less than four hours before brewing, which gives this October bitter a balanced, slightly sweet character with citrus notes and a herby bitterness. The brewery normally uses whole leaf hops from Sussex, Kent and beyond; this time they came fresh, in the brewery's first green hop bitter, brewed in collaboration with the farm.

◐ Taste

Entry is clean and slightly sweet, carried by soft caramel malt character. The mid-palate develops a pleasing herbal and citrus complexity from the green hops, while a restrained but present bitterness builds steadily. The balance tips toward the herbal-bitter side without dominating; the malt sweetness acts as a counterweight throughout.
