Funky Brett

Tap to rate

Funky Brett changes as it ages. Early on, white fruit and citrus lead, with passion fruit and apricot, before the funky notes of the Brettanomyces yeasts take over. Between three and six months it is hoppy and fruity; from six to twelve it turns funky, fruity and floral; at twelve to twenty-four it keeps the fruit. The bitterness moves from strong to well balanced to weak along the way. 6.6 % ABV, 50 IBU.

◐ Taste

Entry is fruity and hoppy with tropical notes—passion fruit and stone fruit—leading the palate. Mid-palate develops a balanced bitterness that frames the fruit without dominating, while funky, earthy Brett notes weave through. The beer remains dry and crisp throughout, with the interplay between hop bitterness and yeast-driven funk defining the flavour arc.
