Deep mahogany brown with warm copper highlights, suggesting the beer's rich Malz foundation and controlled caramelization. The head is dense and persistent, clinging to the glass in fine lacework that speaks to proper carbonation and body. Clarity is good, with only fine suspension—clean and inviting rather than murky.

◌ Aroma

Complex and layered, opening with candied stone fruit—dried apricot and raisin—interwoven with toffee and caramel sweetness. Bitter orange zest cuts through, lending a resinous, citrus-forward edge that prevents the aromatics from becoming cloying. Beneath lies a subtle spice note and faint honey undertone, inviting slow, repeated inhalations.

◐ Taste

Pronounced sweetness dominates the entry—dates, raisins, and candied peel build a full, rich mouthfeel without heaviness. Mid-palate develops darker stone-fruit complexity and warming toffee tones as temperature rises. The 31 IBU bitter orange zest provides textural balance, preventing cloy, while the 8.9% alcohol sits comfortably, amplifying depth rather than heat. A subtle spice note and honey roundness complete the middle.

◑ Finish

Medium-long finish with fading caramel and dried-fruit notes lingering pleasantly on the palate. The bitterness recedes gracefully, leaving warmth and a gentle honey-spiced aftertaste.

Serve at 10–12°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.
