Fiedler Pilsener

Tap to rate

A Pilsener was the first beer Christian Fiedler brewed in Scheibenberg after relaunching the brewery in March 1991. Today it is a pale, full-bodied beer (4.7 % ABV, 11.5 °P) with an agreeably bitter hop note. Five hop varieties, among them fine aroma hops, meet malt from Saxon barley and Ore Mountains spring water from the brewery's own well.

◐ Taste

Full-bodied on entry despite the moderate alcohol, the palate presents a balanced interplay between soft malt sweetness and a decisive noble hop bitterness. The five hop varieties build complexity across the mid-palate, delivering a gentle resinous quality without harshness. Bitterness is agreeably present, finishing neither thin nor cloying.

Serve at 4–7°C

Serve well-chilled at 4–6°C for maximum crispness. A pilsner served too warm loses its defining snap.

Pilsner glass

The tall, narrow pilsner glass preserves carbonation and showcases the golden clarity that defines the style.

Drink fresh and cold. Pilsners do not improve with age — within 3 months of packaging is ideal.
