Koffiedick

Tap to rate

Koffiedick 2.0 is the second edition of a beer Eiber first made seven years earlier, again with the Hague roastery Roast Factory. This time the brew uses cascara, and the result is a fruity IPA, not bitter. Dick, who gives the beer its name, is a true Hagenees with a heart of gold. It comes in at 5.9 % ABV.

◌ Aroma

Subtle tropical undertones emerge alongside a clean, slightly sweet malt base. The overall impression is fruit-forward and approachable rather than aggressively hoppy or bitter.

◐ Taste

Fruity flavors dominate the palate—ripe citrus and tropical stone fruit are immediately apparent. Coffee and light roast character weave through the mid-palate without harshness, while Cascade hops provide a gentle herbal-citrus complexity. Bitterness remains measured and well-integrated, never sharp, allowing the fruit and roast to remain in the foreground.

◑ Finish

The finish is clean and relatively dry, with lingering fruit and coffee notes fading gracefully over a few seconds. No harsh aftertaste; instead, a gentle coffee sweetness and tropical echo persist into the close.

Serve at 8–11°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.

IPAs are hop-forward ales with 5.5–7.5% ABV and IBU 40–70+. Bold hop aroma — citrus, tropical, resinous — with firm bitterness and a dry, clean finish.
