Deep ruby-garnet hue with amber undertones, characteristic of extended barrel aging. The beer presents good clarity with a thin, tan head that settles quickly, leaving modest lacing on the glass. Carbonation is restrained, befitting the funky, wine-like character of the style.

The nose opens with tart red fruit—cherry and plum—layered beneath earthy, funky notes from wild yeast and bacteria. American and French oak contribute vanilla, subtle oak spice, and a dry, slightly musty undertone. Hersbrucker hops add a gentle herbal whisper without dominating the barrel-forward profile.

Entry is immediately tart and dry, with sour cherry and plum flavors building through the mid-palate. Oak and barrel char emerge alongside a peppery, funky character that speaks to the wild fermentation. The five-malt foundation provides subtle sweetness and body, but acidity and dryness drive the palate, with minimal traditional bitterness.
