🌍 United States · Kölsch · One of 48 Kölschs in hopIQ

Crown Kolsch is Grimm's take on the Cologne style, released in 2026: an ale fermented cool so that it comes close to a crisp pale lager. The grist of pilsner, Vienna and chit malt is step-mashed in the Hochkurz method and hopped with Saphir. Pilsner malt gives a soft bready base, the Vienna a light toasty edge, and Saphir adds a mild spicy, floral note with a hint of tangerine. The ale yeast leaves only a faint fruitiness. The beer pours strikingly clear and finishes crisp and quenching.
