Mad & Noisy India Pale Lager

◎ Appearance

A pale golden hue with a slight unfiltered haze, presenting as visibly soft rather than opaque. The dense off-white head sits firmly atop the liquid, exhibiting good retention and fine lacing down the glass. Carbonation is evident and well-integrated, creating a lively visual presence.

◌ Aroma

The nose is unusually assertive for a lager, leading with bright tropical fruit notes—mango and citrus—layered beneath bold pine and herbal grass character. Cedar woodiness rounds out the mid-range, while lager yeast cleanness prevents the profile from becoming resinous or heavy. The overall impression is fresh and herbaceous rather than soft or fruity-forward.

◐ Taste

Grapefruit pith forms the foundation of the palate, with citrus and tropical fruit layered behind it. A silky, understated malt sweetness provides ballast against the firm 60 IBU bitterness, preventing harshness and maintaining drinkability. The interplay between clean hop bite and soft malt character creates a balanced middle without dominating either pole.

The finish arrives clean and composed, shedding the heavier ale-like fruit esters that cold fermentation strips away. Bitterness fades to a gentle drying sensation, leaving only citrus zest and a whisper of grass in the aftertaste.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
