🌍 Australia · Mid-Strength Pale Ale · One of 20 Mid-Strength Pale Ales in hopIQ

A mid-strength hazy pale ale at 3.5 % ABV and the successor to the earlier Summit Session Ale. Citra, Galaxy, Simcoe and Vic Secret give it more hop flavour than its strength suggests: pineapple, passionfruit and mango on the nose, with citrus zest and a light pine note. It pours hazy with a soft body, and a refreshing bitterness of around 25 IBU keeps the finish from turning sweet.

AI-generated sensory profile for Summit Hazy Mid

Appearance

Summit Hazy Mid presents a deliberately cloudy pour, its pale golden hue diffused by suspended yeast and protein, creating an opaque yet luminous appearance. The soft, pillowy head forms readily and clings to the glass with modest persistence. Carbonation is gentle and even, befitting the beer's approachable mid-strength character.

Aroma

The nose leads with bright tropical fruit notes—ripe pineapple, passionfruit, and mango—delivered by the Citra, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Vic Secret hop blend. A subtle citrus zest undercuts the stone fruit, while a light herbal-pine edge adds complexity without dominating. The Malz base remains restrained, allowing the hops their full voice.

Taste

Entry is clean and refreshing, with a light body that avoids any heaviness despite the generous hop loading. The palate develops tropical and citrus flavours in parallel, building a pleasant fruity middle without sweetness. The 25 IBU bitterness arrives as a dry, balancing force, cutting through the fruit and preventing any cloying finish.

Finish

The finish is short to medium, clean and refreshing, with the bitterness lingering as a gentle, pleasant dryness. The low alcohol and restrained Malz character ensure no warmth or heaviness remains.
