Vermont Hills

Tap to rate

Vermont Hills is a New England-style IPA released in November 2024. Krush and Idaho 7 hops are paired with a Vermont ale yeast strain, and wheat and oats join the barley in the grist. The brewery describes the result as hazy, juicy and tropical: a cloudy beer in which ripe tropical fruit leads and the yeast adds a soft, fruity roundness. Wheat and oats give it a fuller body than the brewery's West Coast IPA, and the hop character leans on fruit rather than resin.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with ripe tropical stone fruit—peach and apricot—backed by subtle citrus notes from the Krush and Idaho 7 hops. ◐ Taste

The palate is full and creamy, with wheat and oats providing a substantial mouthfeel that exceeds typical West Coast IPAs. Tropical fruit flavors dominate the entry and mid-palate—juicy and candied rather than sharp—while the 50 IBUs contribute a restrained, clean bitterness that integrates rather than dominates. The yeast character remains prominent, layering soft fruitiness over the hop expression.

◑ Finish

The finish is medium in length, fading with lingering notes of ripe fruit and a soft, pleasant dryness. No harsh tannins or aggressive resin remain—instead, a rounded, fruity fade that echoes the beer's approachable nature.
