Břevnovské Pinot

Tap to rate

Břevnovské Pinot is a sour ale with a long story. The first batch was brewed in 2016 and fermented through the whole following year with a cultured mix of bacteria and yeasts. At the end of 2017 juice of Pinot Noir grapes from the Hnanice vineyard was added, which began a second year of fermentation and maturing, and after two years it was released in a limited edition.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with immediate sourness and berry tartness, followed by layered dark fruit character from the wine grapes that dominates the mid-palate. Funky, slightly musty notes provide complexity and intrigue, while the low bitterness allows the acidity to remain the defining feature. The mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing despite its serious fermentation history.
