Maisgold

Tap to rate

Sweetish, light and easy-drinking, with an elegant hop note: about 30% of the grist is corn from the Linth plain, alongside barley malt and hops. The idea came from Obermühle Steinen, a mill that wanted a corn beer for its 1977 anniversary. Rosengarten was approached in 1978 and launched Maisgold in 1980 as Switzerland's first corn beer.
