🌍 Germany · Imperial Stout · One of 76 Imperial Stouts in hopIQ

Born Tomorrow is a barrel-aged Imperial Stout from Atelier Vrai, based in Heidelbach, Germany. A blend aged 30 months, it divides its time equally between Laphroaig Scotch whisky casks and other vessels, the Islay influence delivering pronounced peaty smoke and a briny, maritime edge to the dense dark base. Poured into the glass, it presents an opaque, pitch-black body beneath a thin, mocha-tinted collar. The aroma captivates immediately — dark chocolate, espresso, and dried fruit emerge through rolling waves of coastal smoke. On the palate, the beer is full-bodied and richly layered, with roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa weaving through the distinctive smokiness. Vanilla and subtle oak add structure without overwhelming the complexity. The finish is long, warming, and memorably smoky.
