Schwoicher Helles

Tap to rate

A homage to Stöfflbräu: before Bierol took over the Schwoich brewhouse in 2014, Peter Bichler brewed a lager here for the Kufstein region, and the recipe of Stöffl Hell lives on in this modern Kellerbier. Naturally cloudy, unfiltered and unpasteurised, it balances a grainy, malty character with a fresh, hoppy aroma from selected Hallertau hops, with a fine body and fine carbonation at 4.9 %. Pilsner and Carahell malts, and some regionally grown barley malted exclusively for Bierol.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with a clean, malty sweetness from regionally grown barley, transitioning smoothly into a crisp, refreshing mid-palate. Hallertau hops provide a restrained but distinct bitterness (25 IBU) that complements rather than dominates, while the fine body and gentle carbonation create an elegant drinking experience.

◑ Finish

Medium finish with a grainy, slightly herbal aftertaste that fades gently. The refined carbonation and noble hop character linger briefly without astringency, leaving the palate refreshed and ready for the next sip.
