◎ Appearance

Deep amber to dark brown, with a warm ruby glow when held to light. The head is thick and persistent, clinging to the glass in fine rings as it slowly recedes. Clarity is good; the body appears dense and viscous, suggesting substantial malt extract and alcohol warmth.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with caramel and toasted malt, followed by subtle dark fruit notes—plum and raisin—that develop as the beer warms. A gentle alcohol warmth emerges beneath, complemented by hints of toffee and cocoa powder. No aggressive hop character; the overall impression is rounded and malty.

◐ Taste

Entry is rich and full-bodied, with sweet caramel and roasted grain establishing a luxurious malt foundation. Mid-palate deepens into chocolate, dark fruit, and a warming alcohol presence that coats without harshness. Bitterness is restrained—around 30 IBU—allowing the malty sweetness to dominate while maintaining balance and structure.

The aftertaste reveals a compelling wine-like character reminiscent of Port or Sherry, lending length and complexity where heavy sweetness alone might have dominated. A persistent warmth and subtle dark-fruit dryness linger, inviting contemplation.
