Deep garnet-brown with an opaque, almost black body that catches light at the edges with mahogany transparency. A dense, tan head forms readily and clings to the glass with persistent lacing. Fine carbonation supports the foam structure throughout the pour.

◌ Aroma

Bright citrus immediately emerges—lime zest cuts through a foundation of resinous pine and herbal Simcoe character. Stone fruit notes of apricot develop beneath, layered with earthy undertones from the dark Malz base. The unfiltered nature allows a subtle yeasty softness to complement the hop-forward profile.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with balanced bitterness—60 IBU presents as assertive yet refined, with a dry, grasping quality across the mid-palate. Wai-iti and Motueka add herbaceous and herbal spice to complement the lime and stone fruit entry, while Mosaic brings subtle berry warmth. The oat adjunct softens the overall structure, creating a full-bodied mouthfeel that prevents harshness.

A moderately long, dry finish dominated by pine resin and citrus pith lingers well past the swallow. The aftertaste remains bitter yet refreshing, with no sharp edges—a clean, craft-forward conclusion.
