Transpacific

Tap to rate

Transpacific is an IPA that the brewery calls full flavoured, hopped with varieties from the United States on one side and from Australia and New Zealand on the other. It is unfiltered and pours a hazy gold. Tasters agree on citrus, above all grapefruit, with a little tropical fruit and a dank, slightly herbal hop note, and on a firm bitter finish. Pale malt adds some sweetness underneath. The body is medium, and the bitterness is clearer than in the cloudy IPAs of the house.

Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Transpacific

◎ Appearance

Transpacific presents a hazy golden hue, true to its unfiltered nature. The cloudy suspension catches light without obscuring the vibrant base color. A moderate head forms and holds with fair retention, supported by the beer's moderate carbonation.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with bright grapefruit citrus, anchored by supporting tropical fruit notes that suggest passion fruit or stone fruit. Beneath the aromatic hops lies a dank, slightly herbal character—earthy and herbaceous—while pale malt contributes a soft, biscuity backdrop that prevents the profile from turning overly sharp.

◐ Taste

Entry is full-flavored and direct, with citrus and herbal hop character asserting themselves immediately. The mid-palate shows good balance: pale malt provides a light, sweet foundation that supports rather than masks the hop bitterness. Bitterness is pronounced and clean, more articulate than in the brewery's hazier offerings, finishing dry without harshness.

◑ Finish

A firm, lingering bitterness carries through the aftertaste, sustained and clear. The finish remains dry, with subtle herbal notes persisting into the fade.

Serve at 8–11°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.
