Ease Up

Tap to rate

A golden session IPA modelled on the lighter American 'easy' IPAs, with a recipe built around hops from England and the United States. There is a little biscuit in the malt base; the rest is hop: resinous pine, peach and melon, then pithy grapefruit on the finish. Centennial and other American varieties meet British Pilgrim over pale ale, Munich and crystal malt with oats. An enzyme used during brewing brings the gluten content below 20 ppm, so the beer is sold as gluten free.

◐ Taste

The palate enters smooth and biscuity, with the oat and pale ale base providing a gentle, rounded mouthfeel. Hop bitterness emerges mid-palate as pithy grapefruit and citrus zest, building gradually without harshness, while the moderate 40 IBU ensures balance rather than aggression.

Serve at 7–10°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.

What is a Session IPA?

IPAs are hop-forward ales with 5.5–7.5% ABV and IBU 40–70+. Bold hop aroma — citrus, tropical, resinous — with firm bitterness and a dry, clean finish.

Finding a similar Session IPA

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same hoppy, peach, resinous character as Ease Up will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
