Juggernaut

Tap to rate

Full bodied and true to the double IPA style, with big Citra, Centennial and Mosaic flavour and aroma and a robust bitter finish at 8.0 % ABV. All three hops go in as Lupocore, and the beer is double dry hopped. The idea grew out of Production Director John's trip to the Yakima hop harvest the year before, an all-American recipe brought back to Sheffield.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with bright citrus notes from Citra and Centennial hops, displaying prominent grapefruit zest and orange peel alongside herbal, resinous undertones. A secondary wave reveals floral and piney characteristics typical of noble hop expression, while the malt foundation remains restrained, allowing the hop aromatics to dominate completely. Double dry-hopping reinforces these aromatic layers with striking intensity and freshness.

◐ Taste

The palate enters with a clean, crisp attack that immediately conveys the full-bodied character of the style. Mid-palate develops layered hop expression—grapefruit bitterness, herbal complexity, and a touch of Mosaic's subtle stone-fruit undertones—balanced against a subtle malt sweetness that provides structure without cloying. The robust bitter finish asserts itself steadily, building from the mid-palate onward with a dry, resinous quality that lingers without harshness.

◑ Finish

The finish is long and satisfyingly dry, with lingering hop bitterness and resinous notes that fade gradually over several minutes. A subtle warming from the 8% ABV becomes apparent only at the very end, without any alcohol heat or astringency.
