Tre Fontane - Tripel

◎ Appearance

A pale golden hue with excellent clarity and a dense, creamy white head that settles into a fine layer of lacing. The carbonation is moderate and even, lending the beer a refined, composed presentation characteristic of the Belgian Tripel style.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with a distinctive herbal eucalyptus note from the abbey's own grounds, lending an unexpected botanical freshness rarely encountered in the style. Beneath lies a soft fruity sweetness with gentle spice and honey notes, while the alcohol at 8.5% remains well-integrated and unobtrusive.

◐ Taste

The palate opens smooth and welcoming, with the herbal character providing textural complexity alongside a honeyed malt base. Mild spice and a light, peppery warmth carry through the mid-palate; bitterness remains restrained at 26 IBU, allowing the beer's delicate fruit and herbal layers to dominate without harsh edges.

◑ Finish

A clean, dry finish with lingering herbal and honey notes. The alcohol warmth provides gentle persistence without harshness, leaving a balanced, refreshing aftertaste.

Serve at 10–13°C in a goblet. The yeast character and carbonation are the stars — cold would suppress both.

The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.
