Stag Bán
Stag Bán was the first beer from the Ballyvourney brewery and is still its pale ale. A cool fermentation keeps the profile clean, and a deliberately plain malt bill gives body without heaviness or cloying sweetness. First Gold, Admiral and Cascade bring an orange-like citrus aroma with a clear floral side; East Kent Goldings stay in the background and lead into a spicy, dry finish. Bitterness is held in check – the beer is built for balance rather than hop intensity.

India Pale Ales are hop-forward ales with ABV typically 5.5–7.5% and IBU 40–70+. Bold citrus, pine or tropical aromas alongside firm bitterness and a clean dry finish.

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same citrusy, dry, floral character as Stag Bán will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
