Damm launched Daura Märzen in 2014 as the first gluten-reduced double malt beer, brewed to 7.2 % at an original gravity of 17.1 °P. As with Daura, the gluten is broken down during brewing and every batch is checked before release. The beer is a deep, bright copper under a dense, dark ivory head. The nose is powerful, with toasted notes, dried fruit, herbal hints and candied orange peel. On the palate it is full and layered, balancing malt sweetness and roast against a pronounced bitterness.
